Riis Settlement is holding a Family Literacy Event on Thursday, February 22 from 4:30pm-7:00pm. Join us for literacy activities, storytelling, and celebrate Family, Art, and Culture of the Western Queens community! We need volunteers to assist us with set-up, serving food, and managing children's arts and crafts stations.Volunteers should be enthusiastic, love working with youth, and have patience.

Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement House is a community based non-profit organization that offers comprehensive services to the youth, adults, seniors and families in the Western Queens Community. The resources, opportunities and support we provide serve as a catalyst for community members to reach their greatest potential and achieve social and economic self-sufficiency.

Description

A multi-service community-based organization in Long Island City Queens, Riis Settlement offers after-school programs for youth, adolescent services, immigrant services, including adult ESOL classes, and Senior Citizen support programs.
