This Saturday, Long Beach is having our next neighborhood cleanup at Orizaba Park. There will be tools and gloves provided to the volunteers, as well as snacks and drinks. This is a great and easy opportunity to really see how you can make a difference in a neighborhood.

Mission Statement

The Litter-free Long Beach Program is designed to expand awareness of the impacts of litter, build community pride, and develop support and participation in keeping Long Beach litter-free.

Description

Litter-free LB began in 2005 as a multi-faceted program to get all stake-holders involved in the City’s litter issue. A General Awareness campaign was developed consisting of:

  • www.litterfreeLB.org
  • Advertisements
  • Boulevard Banners
  • Reusable Bags
  • Truck Signs
  • Bus Shelter Posters
  • Library Posters
  • PSAs
  • No Advertising" Doorhangers
Volunteer at, or Plan a Litter Clean-Up Event

More than 147 tons of litter and debris are collected annually by volunteers. LB organizations are encouraged to post their clean-up events here and residents are encouraged to check back often to participate.

Long Beach Businesses and Organizations Can Volunteer as a Group

Group volunteering at a Long Beach clean-up event is a great activity for business owners, managers and employees to come together and foster a team spirit. Most events are early Saturday mornings.
