Almost Home Culminating Celebration

Interested in public art, storytelling, and live events?
Volunteer with More Art and Five Boro Story Project!

More Art is an NYC-based public arts non-profit looking for interested individuals to help during the Almost Home Culminating Celebration. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following tasks before and during the event:

  • Setting up at the venue
  • Assist with the installation of art works
  • Help facilitate activities as part of art works (encouraging people to write stories on paper and hang them up)
  • Help greet people at the beginning of the event
  • Help with social media, including making live posts during the event
When: Saturday January 27, 2018, 4:00-8:30pm
Where: D'Antigua, 84-16 Northern Blvd, Jackson Heights, NY 11372

Almost Home / Casi Llegando a Casa is a storytelling, oral history, art, and video series in Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, and Corona that explores the meaning of "home" and addresses the struggle around gentrification, displacement, and immigrants' rights. The culminating celebration features interactive art, storytelling, music, and poetry performances by notable Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, and Corona residents.
