Virtual Board Member


Term of Office:1-2 years; There is no maximum for number of years Directors can serve, but re-election will occur every two years. Directors may be appointed by the Board to fill vacancies.

Fundraising: All Board Members are expected to make an annual donation to the organization that is personally meaningful to the youth and families we serve. The donation requirement can be met by personal funds or solicitation of donations for program events and fundraisers.


Time Requirement: We require a time commitment of about 36 hours per year, or an average of 2 hours per month for board meetings, committee meetings, trainings, and special events, including preparation time. We do most of our work in meetings, via teleconference.


Committee Meetings: Committees meet at the pleasure of committee members and program staff in order to accomplish certain tasks by established deadlines. Attendance is essential for the committees to do their work.

With over 20 years of experience in the field, Sonya is committed to empowering overcomers of abuse/trauma to build resilience and create a life of fulfillment.Through coaching and educational programs, various events, community connections, and workshops, ThriveHER(tm) provides survivors with the resources and support they need to soar towards thriving.
