Do you love dogs? Want to stretch your legs and get your steps in? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you! Come by the shelter to love on a dog. Then take your favorite one for a walk around the park. The shelter is adjacent to the city park, which has beautiful walking paths!
Busy schedule? Not to worry! You pick the days and hours that you would like to volunteer your time. Hope to see you soon!

Our mission is to promote the animals of Forney who are awaiting their forever homes, to publicize the programs which enrich the lives of all family members, and to educate the public on their pet's health and wellness.
Description
You want to help your community but aren't sure how? Volunteering at the Animal Adoption Center offers you the opportunity to utilize current skills, develop new skills, meet your neighbors and give back to the community.
Working under the supervision of the Animal Services staff, volunteers provide support and assistance. Volunteer opportunities range from socializing with cats and dogs, attending events to promote the shelter, walking dogs around the park, cleaning or even decorating the shelter for the various holidays. The wonderful thing about volunteering with the Forney Shelter is that you pick what works best for you and your unique skill sets.
