Please visit the new page to apply.
We are looking for volunteers to assist with a luncheon on Sunday January 28th from 10:30 to 3:30 in Germantown, Maryland. This includes food and event preparation, assistance, and cleanup. SSL approved. An 8-member mission team is headed to Kabale, Uganda over Spring Break 2018 to work with the Rukundo International Girl's Empowerment Program in six different schools. The program teachers girls in rural villages about reproductive health, life skills, HIV prevention, and unplanned pregnancy and STD prevention. The program is helping to keep girls in school in an area where many girls get married, have children, and/or drop out of school before reaching age 16. Most girls in this village are forced to miss school each month due to not having proper sanitary products during menstruation. One of the goals of this luncheon is to raise funds to purchase all of the girls Afri-pads. Afri-pads are reusable sanitary products that allow girls to attend school without embarrassment during their monthly periods.
