As a hospice volunteer, you will be providing emotional, social, spiritual, and practical (non-medical) support for people living with a life-threatening illness, their caregivers and families.
-Read books or play music for those who are unable to visit with you, but need to know they are not alone
-Share laughter and tears
-Share life stories
-Compassionate and active listening
-Watch movies and television
-Doing arts and crafts
-Comfortable with openly talking about death, dying, and bereavement
A screening interview, personal and background checks and completion of a training program are required prior to placement....
