New Beginning Hospice is looking for motivated volunteers who want to give comfort to our patients who have life limiting illnesses. Tasks can include but are not limited to: crafts, games, music therapy, reading, sharing stories, writing memoirs, light housekeeping, errand running, light cooking, transporting, or even just holding their hand in silence.
These activities help fulfill our patients social needs and needs for human interaction. Most of our patients are in group homes or in private homes and they just want a new face to interact with other than family/caregivers.
Our patients are mainly located in the West and East valley, Surprise, Sun City, Glendale, Phoenix, and a few are in Mesa/Tempe.
Medicare requirements include:
CPR certification
fingerprint card
orientation
TB test
**All of these requirements we provide for the volunteers, if needed.**
All you need is a caring heart and some time to give, as much as 1 hour per week or more!
