We are a small but growing non-profit and are seeking volunteers who love dogs and have a genuine interest in giving back to those who protect and serve our community.
Animal Opportunities / Hands On
- foster parents
- student trainer - seeking to acquire SD training skills by raising a SD and attending classes
- classroom assistant to assist lead instructor
Virtual Opportunities
- marketing - to promote our in-house training program as well as our new initiative of SD Trainer Academy
- graphic design - design ID badges for certified teams, certificates, brochures, etc
- web developer - we are looking to build a log-in protected portion of our website for our students
- fundraising - seeking skilled individuals to work with us on creating and running events, silent auctions, and graduation planning (next graduation Late March - early April 2018
- business advisor
- legal advisor - either attorney or paralegal to answer questions as they may arise
- PR - seeking an individual with experience in working with media
- community outreach - we have periodic needs for individuals to staff booths at community events, or provide talks in the community to promote SD education
Seeking a few more Board members. We have a small but stable group of Board members. Our current President has been with the organization for 8 years, our Exec. Dir. has been with the FSDS for 10 years. Quarterly meetings are conducted via phone conferencing. Interim information addressed typically via email and concise online Board notes that are maintained online.

Mission Statement
The Foundation for Service Dog Support (FSDS) is an Arizona-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides support and resources for people and service dogs. The FSDS provides training for service dog teams, support and encouragement for people who need service dogs and increased community awareness about the role of service dogs in public spaces. The FSDS preferentially grants service dogs to injured and/or disabled first responders, public safety officers, disabled military veterans, public school teachers, clergy and others who have provided outstanding service to our community.
Description
The FSDS program creatively couples the delivery of service dog (SD) training education to those interested in acquiring marketable job skills with the provision of certified SDs to those in need here in AZ. Preference is given to wounded military and first responders. We also provide:
- Canine FA and CPR Certification
- Outreach Certification Program
- SD Trainer Academy, where individuals can acquire trainer certification at four levels to include Novice, Jr. Instructor, Sr. Instructor, Master Trainer.
- AZ POST approved training to local law enforcement
