Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We are always accepting new professional and support volunteers to help serve our constantly growing patient population.

VIM’s Dental Clinic - with eight treatment rooms, state-of-the art sterilization equipment and a new Lab - has had an incredible impact on FREE dental care in the Lowcountry. Thanks to VIM’s new space, VIM Hilton Head Island can now:

• Treat 6,000 patient visits annually, 30% are children!;
• Schedule several of our 26 volunteer dentists on the same day, increasing the number of patients treated;
• Accommodate more dental hygienists, expanding the emphasis on preventive dentistry and dental education for VIM patients and their families;
• Provide a training ground to mentor and teach more dental students;
• Increase VIM’s community outreach, including participation in the American Dental Association’s Give Kids a Smile Day;
• Provide dental health screenings and oral health education at church and school-sponsored health fairs and other community programs;
• Expand preventive dental care and oral hygiene education through VIM HHI’s new Women’s Heart Health Initiative, funded by the Pfizer Corporation.

Our commitment to providing comprehensive free dental care at the current level takes increased donations to pay for operations, materials and supplies. We need your help so that we can continue to give our patients, and all of our island community, a reason to smile.
