Enjoy shopping? Love to help people? HomeCare Options in Totowa, New Jersey is seeking new volunteer shoppers for their House Call Groceries for Seniors program. This all volunteer shopping group provides a very practical service for Seniors and handicapped residents throughout Passaic County who are homebound and no longer able to get out to shop for their own groceries. Each shopper, simply by making themselves available to these clients to shop, also brings an extra ray of caring and sunshine into the lives of people who often have less and less contact with the outside world as they age.
Individual shoppers, husband/wife teams, and parent/teen shopping pairs are all welcome to apply. Can you share a few hours of your time each week? every other week? each month? to help? We will find a match for you! Shop in your own town, or shop in a town nearby. You choose how far you can travel to help, and which town(s) you are able to shop in.
For more information about this program, call Julie Ford at (973) 523-1224, Ext. 229. The stories we hear from shopping clients, and individual shopping volunteers are so heartwarming! So many matches seem to be made in heaven when you hear how appreciative clients are, and how relationships are built over time between each shopping client and shopping volunteer! Please call and give this a try!
