The family of a hospice patient who has dementia and is living in Novi, Michigan, is looking for volunteers to stay with the patient while they grocery shop. Volunteering is as simple as providing a gentle touch or a kind word to someone in their last months, but the rewards last a lifetime. The patient and their family will be grateful! Heartland trains volunteers and walks every step of the journey with them. Volunteers must be at least 18-years-old to visit patients.

Mission Statement
Heartland Hospice provides quality care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their families and caregivers. Formerly known as ProMedica Hospice, Heartland enhances the quality of life of those we serve through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by using an interdisciplinary approach in delivering care to patients--either in their own homes or extended care facilities--while working cooperatively with other health care providers and other community resources. Heartland Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hospice care irrespective of ability to pay. Heartland is part of Gentiva Health Services.
