Please join The Watershed Project in our garden and enjoy being out in nature on the Richmond Greenway for our monthly Second Saturday. Come see our Greenway rain garden and bioswales in action, growing and blooming after the winter rains. We'll have a fun day outside weeding, planting native plants and tending the gardens. We are converting an old railroad track into a beautiful pedestrian/cycling park that runs through Richmond. We've recently completed planting a new bioswale that is part of our network of rain gardens and bioswales capturing and filtering stormwater runoff.
No experience necessary and children are welcome, accompanied by an adult. Tools, gloves, water and snacks will be provided. Please bring a reusable water bottle if you have one. Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
Students are welcome to do community service and if under 18, please download our waiver from our event page as parent permission is required.
We are located near Unity Park on the Richmond Greenway at 17-19th Streets and recommend parking on 20th at the Greenway and walking on the Greenway towards Unity Park,. The Greenway is a bike/pedestrian pathway sandwiched beetween Ohio and Chanslor Avenues in Richmond.
Contact us with any questions or to RSVP for your group.
Please join us for a fun day on the Greenway!
