IEVP Class

Job Summary
Volunteers will teach adults in a classroom setting, who are learning the English language skills necessary for living and working in our community. These skills include English, Life Skills, Reading, Comprehension, History and Government.

Qualifications

  • Strong desire to improve the English langue skills of students
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Patience, understanding, flexibility, and an unceasingly positive attitude
  • Outgoing personality. Ability to meet challenge with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to serve as an ELL Teacher for 2-3 hours a week for five months
  • Fluency in English


Responsibilities
  • Complete an informal in class training session (all lessons will be provided)
  • Be punctual or a few minutes early (at least 15 minutes early to each class)
  • At the close of each session, complete a feedback form
  • Provide regular feedback to the Executive Director about your class
  • Keep up with class attendance through iPad apps (iPad provided)
