Job Summary
Volunteers will teach adults in a classroom setting, who are learning the English language skills necessary for living and working in our community. These skills include English, Life Skills, Reading, Comprehension, History and Government.
Qualifications
- Strong desire to improve the English langue skills of students
- Sensitivity to cultural differences
- Patience, understanding, flexibility, and an unceasingly positive attitude
- Outgoing personality. Ability to meet challenge with enthusiasm.
- Ability to serve as an ELL Teacher for 2-3 hours a week for five months
- Fluency in English
Responsibilities
- Complete an informal in class training session (all lessons will be provided)
- Be punctual or a few minutes early (at least 15 minutes early to each class)
- At the close of each session, complete a feedback form
- Provide regular feedback to the Executive Director about your class
- Keep up with class attendance through iPad apps (iPad provided)
