Job Summary Volunteers will teach adults in a classroom setting, who are learning the English language skills necessary for living and working in our community. These skills include English, Life Skills, Reading, Comprehension, History and Government.
Strong desire to improve the English langue skills of students
Sensitivity to cultural differences
Patience, understanding, flexibility, and an unceasingly positive attitude
Outgoing personality. Ability to meet challenge with enthusiasm.
Ability to serve as an ELL Teacher for 2-3 hours a week for five months
Fluency in English
Complete an informal in class training session (all lessons will be provided)
Be punctual or a few minutes early (at least 15 minutes early to each class)
At the close of each session, complete a feedback form
Provide regular feedback to the Executive Director about your class
Keep up with class attendance through iPad apps (iPad provided)
