SHORT TERM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED DUE TO COVID-19
Apple Valley Food Shelf, located in Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, has a need for short-term, healthy volunteers who are from a low-risk category. 360 Communities has taken steps to ensure volunteers' safety. At SOTV, the doors will be locked to the public; only staff and volunteers will be allowed inside. Volunteers will pre-package bags of food for families. As clients arrive, volunteers will set bags of food outside for clients to grab. This will minimize contact between everyone, helping to prevent exposure.
Morning volunteers need to be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally, as they will be sorting and shelving incoming rescue food prior to the arrival of clients. Afternoon and evening volunteers need to be able to lift up to 20 pounds, as they will keep the shelves stock, pack food, and load carts to be ready for pickup. If you are willing and able to volunteer two or more shifts in the upcoming weeks, we would appreciate your support!
