The Autism Society Central Ohio is having a Night at the Museum at the Ohio History Connection on Saturday, January 27th- the event is going to be very Autism and Family Friendly!

The expected outcomes for our night is that families can explore the museum at their own pace; engagement with the actors and volunteers to learn about Ohio history; have hands-on activity that involved Ohio history (e.g. making recycled envelope art, using their skills to do different activities) in a fun, no judgement environment. This introductory experience is intended to assist in the development of skills for museum behavior and enjoyment to promote active and meaningful life experiences.

Our guests will be provided with a flashlight and map to explore and find different items through the museum. We will have social stories and descriptions for individuals to follow along, as well as interpretive dialogue from the actors and volunteers so that their experience is interactive.

What: Each volunteer will be given an area of the museum to assist our guests.

Where: Ohio History Connection, 800 E. 17th Ave. Columbus, OH 43211

When: Saturday, January 27th from 5:30-8:30 PM

Volunteers needed: 6-10

Event Leaders: Andy at andy@columbusgivesback.org and Caroline at caroline@columbusgivesback.org

What to Wear: Though you don't get to dress up as a dalmation or piece of candy like our "Trick-or-Suites" event with the Autism Society, a t-shirt will be provided to all volunteers for the night!
