Meal Delivery - Walking Route
Project Open Hand’s mission is to nourish and engage our community by providing meals with love to the sick and the elderly. Distribution volunteers will help deliver nutritious meals with love - along with a smile and "hello" - to clients in Project Open Hand’s Wellness program.
Volunteers walk around the Tenderloin neighborhood to deliver meals to homebound clients who live close to Project Open Hand’s 730 Polk St. location. Volunteers often help pack the meals in food-safe travel packs prior to beginning their walking route.
Please note that this is an outdoor opportunity. Volunteers must be able to walk several blocks pulling a wheeled delivery bag or carrying a shoulder bag, and climb several flights of stairs. Bikes and skateboards are not allowed to ensure meal quality.
