Health Literacy and Library Services Volunteer
The ZSFG Library at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital in San Francisco needs volunteers to help spread the word about online health literacy resources!
Volunteers would work with patients directly at the ZSFG hospital to help them learn about resources like MedlinePlus, supported by the National Library of Medicine, as well as MYSFHEALTH, the city and county patient portal program for users of the San Francisco Health Network clinics.
Volunteers would also be able to assist in informing patients about the library in turn, including our ZSFG Reads program, which allows patients and members of the public to check out from our collection of general fiction and nonfiction reading, as well as our Consumer Health collection.
Shifts are available in the mornings and afternoons, Mondays through Fridays. We are closed on weeknights and weekends.
We are especially interested in volunteers who may also speak one or more of our key language groups we serve at ZSFG: Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese or Russian. This is not a requirement.
Volunteers interested in further experience in the medical field would also get the opportunity to shadow nurses and physicians elsewhere in the hospital.
Thank you for your interest! We look forward to hearing from you.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
