CHR, the state’s most comprehensive, non-profit behavioral healthcare agency, needs volunteers for its annual 1 in 5 Walk and 5K run on Saturday, May 19, from 7:45am to noon at Great River Park in East Hartford.
Join people of all ages as we raise awareness about mental health and substance use! The event includes a one-mile walking course or a 5K run across scenic routes overlooking the Hartford skyline. The name "1 in 5" aligns with the fact that one in five Americans will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life. Also, the May 19 date falls within Mental Health Awareness Month.
Volunteers are needed to assist with water stations, the registration desk, keeping runners and walkers on the course, as well as cheering on the runners and walkers as they make their way to the finish line!
To RSVP as a volunteer, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Colleen McGill, Development & Communications Associate at cmcgill@chrhealth.org or call (860) 697-3463.
