The Food Bank of Iowa has opened a Food Pantry onsite! We need your help to serve community members and better understand the 500+ partner agencies that we serve. This choice pantry will offer food items to anyone in the state of Iowa and an opportunity to serve the 1 in 8 Iowans currently in need.
Spend Tuesday evenings making a big impact!
Role: Assist community members shopping in the food pantry, filling out profiles as a new shopper, and providing additional support such as bus schedules and brochures with information on other benefits.
Commitment: We need volunteers that are able to commit to a weekly shift and willing to cross train to assist clients from welcome to departure at the pantry. We can also accept volunteers as they are available for one time opportunities!
Requirements: Volunteers must be aged 16 or older to volunteer in the pantry. Please note that for some of the roles in the pantry we do need a volunteer to be willing to commit to a weekly shift for training. Training will occur before your first shift and a Food Bank of Iowa staff member will be onsite to assist with any questions for all pantry shifts.
