MBIC New Brand

MBIC Clubhouse is seeking warm and welcoming volunteers to serve as AM/PM Transportation Greeters. This vital role ensures a friendly and supportive start and end to our members' day, facilitating their transition in and out of our community-based program. Our members, adults living with disabilities and cognitive challenges, greatly benefit from the sense of independence and community involvement that MBIC offers. Despite not residing in institutional settings, many utilize paratransit services for their daily commute and occasionally need assistance or a reassuring presence during their arrival and departure.

Key Responsibilities

As a Transportation Greeter, you will:

  • Offer a warm welcome and farewell to members, assisting with a smooth transition into and out of the building.
  • Provide assistance with navigating paratransit services, ensuring members board the correct vehicle and have help with any belongings, walkers, or mobility aids.
  • Act as a liaison with transportation drivers, sometimes needing to signal them in and communicate who they are picking up.
  • Support members with the use of the elevator and navigating the entrance and exit, always with a friendly smile and encouraging words.
  • Help instill confidence in our members, aiding them in becoming more comfortable and independent with their transportation needs over time.
Ideal Volunteer Profile

We're looking for volunteers who are:

  • Compassionate and patient, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to commit a few hours in the morning and/or afternoon, with flexibility around the exact times.
  • Interested in making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities and cognitive challenges.
  • Keen to support our members' journey towards greater independence and community integration.
Why Volunteer as a Transportation Greeter?

This role offers the opportunity to make a significant, immediate impact on the daily lives of our members. You'll provide not just practical assistance, but also the emotional support that comes from a friendly interaction. It's a chance to help individuals with disabilities feel more confident and capable in managing their transportation needs, contributing to their overall independence and quality of life.

Join Our Team

If you're looking for a volunteer opportunity that requires a minimal time commitment but offers the chance to make a big difference, becoming an AM/PM Transportation Greeter at MBIC Clubhouse could be perfect for you. Your smile and support can set a positive tone for our members' days, helping them feel valued, supported, and part of a caring community.

For more information and to join us in this fulfilling role, please reach out to us. Your involvement will not only assist our members in practical ways but will also contribute significantly to their sense of belonging and confidence in navigating the world independently.
