Recover YABB Bulletin Board Messages
ORGANIZATION: SOUTHWESTERN CENTER FOR HERPETOLOGICAL RESEARCH
Please visit the new page to apply.
Our organization migrated our web site to a new host last year. The new host is unable to run our old discussion forums which were set up using the Perl-based Yet Another Bulletin Board (YABB) code. We'd like to be able to recover the old messages and convert them into archived pages which don't require the actual forums to be functional. It appears we have the old content (at least some of it) available in multiple files, including images. I've tried contacting the YABB support forums but have not been successful. What we're looking for is someone who could either read/distill the existing files created through YABB, or set up a "dummy" YABB board if needed (on a test server or similar location), in order to view the old messages so we can copy/paste the content into simple HTML pages. It may very well be a simple and quick solution exists, but it's beyond the scope of my abilities.
