Every day, the NH Food Bank receives non-perishable food donations such as canned goods that need to be inspected, sorted, and categorized. Volunteers involved in this process inspect these donations for any signs of contamination or damaged packaging and sort all of the products in good condition into boxes to be distributed to our partner agencies across the state. All volunteers receive training and gloves to wear.
This task requires some bending, lifting up to 35 pounds, and standing for the duration of the activity. Fresh Rescue volunteer opportunities are available Tuesday-Thursday and require 10-12 people per shift. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
This is a great opportunity for church groups, businesses, or a group of friends who are looking to volunteer. Individuals welcome, and will be put into a group.
