Volunteers are crucial to maintaining a welcoming and organized atmosphere. CMC requires ushers, ticket scanners, coat room attendants, grand hall attendants, and other support staff during our shows and rental events. Volunteers must be able to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while performing their duties. Each month, our volunteers are given a list of volunteer opportunities that they may choose from, and volunteers may choose the positions/duties they feel comfortable performing. "To help talented local students attain advanced education and--through the Chuck Mathena Center Performing Arts Center--to foster an appreciation of the arts and to provide a culturally diverse array of opportunities to all members of the community."
Description
The Chuck Mathena Center for the Performing Arts houses the Rotunda Art Gallery and a nearly 1,000 seat theatre in the heart of Southern West Virginia. Our stage plays host to artists from young elementary school choir students to Grammy winners and national touring Broadway performers, and in the Rotunda Art Gallery, we display art shows from local visual artists as well as national juried exhibitions. In addition to your commitment to the arts, the Charles T. "Chuck" Mathena II Foundation awards one college-bound Princeton Senior High School student with a $10,000 scholarship.
