Currently seeking an innovative and dedicated graphic designer to join our growing SDPAC team. The volunteer in this role would be responsible for taking conceptual design ideas and creating visual representations of them, both electronically and in print for our 24th Annual SD Festival of Beer. This individual would work with a variety of products, applications, and software platforms, while simultaneously collaborating with a number of teams at our organization. San Diego Professionals Against Cancer is a nonprofit organization comprised of 100% volunteer professionals who host an annual beer festival in Sept and a handful of smaller social events to raise money to fight cancer.
Graphic Designer Duties and Responsibilities- Sit in on conceptual design meetings and offer educated opinions
- Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces
- Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects
- Select colors, font, images, and layout
- Create visualizations (either by hand or via a software program) which convey accurate messaging and undertones as dictated by the project
- Develop our annual Festival of Beer poster around artwork, update annual logo, develope website graphics, etc. as needed
- Present designs to Board Members and PR team
- Implement feedback/changes when appropriate
- QA designs for errors
- Pass final design to development/publishing teams for release
- Exceptional creativity and innovation skills
- Experience with both print and electronic media
- Proficient in design and photo-editing software
- Skills of accuracy and attention to detail
- Independent worker and making
- Time management and organizational skills/able to meet deadlines
- The ability and desire to stay up-to-date with commercial design/graphics trends and implement these in weekly and monthly projects
- A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, design, or art preferred - not required (extensive experience in the field may also be acceptable)

The San Diego Festival of Beer is completely 100% volunteer-driven! You are welcome and encouraged to join us by signing up for any of the various efforts it takes to produce this fantastic fundraising event. Join around 300 fellow San Diegans willing to roll up their sleeves, hand out the hoppiness, and help this cancer fighting cause! If you are already a little beyond pledging I Tapa Keg, you will still be amazed at the variety of tasks it takes to produce this single-day event on the bay front. From wine pouring and tickets to t-shirt sells and glass distribution, we have a way to help you put your singular talents and energies to good use this day.
