About

The Volunteer Outreach Assistant will directly contribute to Habitat Metro Denver’s capacity to build more affordable homes by increasing volunteer recruitment efforts and developing its outreach program.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify relevant community outreach opportunities and communicate them to the Volunteer Coordinator
  • Conduct research to identify potential new partnership opportunities with community groups and organizations
  • Contact new volunteer prospects and provide information on Habitat volunteer opportunities
  • Assist with distribution of promotional materials as requested
  • Follow up with new volunteers to get feedback and encourage future involvement
  • Write thank you cards to volunteers as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school degree
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Comfortable with "cold calling" potential volunteers and partner organizations
  • Ability to speak clearly via telephone and communicate in a courteous and professional manner
  • Passionate about sharing Habitat’s mission with others
  • Previous volunteer or work experience preferred
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email providers (i.e., Gmail, Outlook)

Expected Time Commitment:

  • 4 hours a week with a flexible schedule during office hours (Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm)
  • 3 month commitment preferred

Requirements:

  • Volunteer interview
  • Volunteer orientation
  • Completed volunteer waiver
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Training & Supervision:

Volunteer will be trained and supervised by the Volunteer Outreach Coordinator. An overview of Habitat volunteer opportunities and talking points will be provided during volunteer shifts.
