The Portofino Derby Classic is is a unique way to "party with a purpose". The event will be at the Portofino Equestrian Center, 213 Portofino Drive, Clayton NC 27527 on Saturday, May 5, 3:30-7:30pm.
Net proceeds will benefit cancer patients through the Johnston Health Foundation Angel Fund.
Event attendees get to enjoy horse attractions, dress up Derby Style, food and drinks together with
1,500+ supporters from all over Eastern North Carolina!
A great fundraising event like this will not be successful without the help from volunteers. Here are volunteer opportunities:
PRE_EVENT:
- Feb - May - Social media post sharing
- Feb - May - Ticket promotion
- Feb - April- Soliciting and in kind sponsors
- Feb - April - Posting and distribution of fliers and posters.
- May 4, 10-5pm- Event Set up
EVENT/RACE DAY, MAY 5, 2018
1ST SHIFT: (10AM -1PM)
- 10 EVENT SITE SET-UP
- 1 LEAD VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
- 4 TICKET SALES VOLUNTEERS
- 16 TRAFFIC CONTROL (at least 21 yrs old)
- 12 PARKING ATTENDANTS (at least 21 years old)
- 10 GREETERS
- 4 RED CARPET PHOTOGRAPHERS/ASSISTANTS
- 6 FOOD STATION ASSISTANTS
- 6 BEVERAGE STATION ASSISTANTS
- 6 SPONSOR TENT ASSISTANTS
- 3 VOLUNTEER ROVING PHOTOGRAPHERS
- 3 VOLUNTEER ROVING VIDEOGRAPHER
- 2 FIRST AID STATION VOLUNTEERS (RN, EMT or 1st aid certification required)
- 5 CLEAN UP/PACK UP TEAM

The Johnston Memorial Hospital Foundation (dba Johnston Health Foundation) raises awareness and funds for Johnston Health. Contributions are used to expand and supplement services and assistance to patients, and to fund equipment and capital needs of the health care system. Our work ultimately enhances the quality of care that Johnston Health delivers to patients and their families.
