ORGANIZATION: SoCal Arts 4 Autism, a Fractured Atlas Sponsored Program

SoCal Music Association is seeking a Social Media volunteer who is able to think outside the box. This is an idea for individuals that would like to pursue a career in either music or the non-profit sector. We are able to offer school credit. You will be able to build your resume & portfolio, network and know that you have made a difference in the lives of autistic children.
Since our inception in 2012, we have stood tall at the forefront of the battle for Sensory-Friendly Performances and it has been our #1 priority to bring the healing power of music to autistic children through the promotion and advocacy of Sensory-Friendly Concerts, through our awards ceremony, through education about the correlation between music and autism, through our Christmas program and our musical instrument donation program.
SoCal Music Association (SCMA) is dedicated to empowering autistic children by encouraging musical interaction programs.
This can be done remotely and we are very flexible on hours, however, we do ask that you email us on Fridays to update us even if you did not do anything during the week.

Mission Statement

Arts 4 Autism Center stands tall at the forefront of society to remove barriers and increase high-quality and equal access to music programs and Sensory Friendly Performances for autistic adolescents.

Description

Arts 4 Autism Center was created with the purpose of empowering autistic children through the healing power of the arts. We believe autistic children, regardless of ability, social or economic status, deserve the opportunity to experience the magic of music, the arts, and sports. We are setting the stage for acceptance, understanding, and friendship.

The arts enable children to express themselves through music, acting, martial arts, dancing, film, drawing, and painting. The arts can offer a unique opportunity to integrate essential everyday skills like language development, listening skills, movement, and communication. Our goal is to foster creative exploration, self-expression, perception development, social engagement, and confidence in each child.
By providing a safe, comfortable, and accommodating atmosphere autistic children can flourish, thrive, explore realities and ideas that simply cannot be conveyed in words, and continue to push the boundaries of their potential
