Arizona Gives Day (April 3, 2018) is a statewide, 24-hour online giving campaign that helps people find, learn about, and contribute to causes that they believe in while enabling nonprofits to share their story and engage community.

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW) is preparing our 2018 campaign with a goal of raising $55,000 to bolster child abuse prevention, empower refugee women, and provide other critical services.

This volunteer will play an integral role in promoting a successful campaign. Objectives of this position include:

• Designing and editing flyers, posters, graphics, and other toolkit materials that will be shared across LSS-SW programs and partner congregations
• Editing and posting content across website and social media
• Editing and enhancing online giving page using Arizona Gives Day platform
• Engaging with donors and community partners on social media to increase visibility
• Writing donor communications pieces, such as reminder emails and thank you letters

The volunteer will work with our Development Communications Director and need not have formal design or communications experience. Requirements do include:

• Creative thinker who is comfortable crafting new messages
• Effective communicator with strong writing skills
• Ability to turn small snippets of information to engaging stories, multimedia pieces, and fundraising asks
• Interest in learning about fundraising, digital communications, and donor relations
• Experienced creating flyers, postcards, or other promotional materials using Microsoft Publisher or Canva
• A good understanding of Facebook Pages for nonprofits

Candidates will be asked to submit an example promotional material they have created, as well as a sample nonprofit social media posting.
