Thrift Shop

Volunteers help price, sort, display, pack merchandise, and sell donated clothing and household goods. Our thrift shop provides a pre-vocational volunteer opportunity for individuals residing in Options for Community Living, Inc.'s residential programs. Volunteers work closely with our residents to help them develop customer service, financial management, and store maintenance skills. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 4pm. Schedule is flexible.

Description

Since 1982, Options for Community Living, Inc. (Options) has been providing residential and support services to people in need on Long Island, NY. Through housing programs, case management, and care coordination services, Options staff help participants access resources and services to promote optimal health, stability and independence. Our programs are specialized to serve individuals with psychiatric disabilities and other serious chronic illnesses including HIV/AIDS. Options owns more than 150 residential properties scattered across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. This past year alone, we helped more than 2,000 Long Islanders (individuals and families) with their housing and support service needs.
