Welcome to our Camping Unlimited programs! Since 1957 we have offered exciting weekend recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. Participants with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other challenges enjoy exciting weekend day trips and overnight adventures with the assistance of our wonderful Volunteers.
An exciting pre-valentine event will be held on February 7-9. Volunteers, staff and our wonderful "campers" will head up to the Santa Cruz Mountains and stay overnight at our beautiful rustic summer facility at Camp Krem! This weekend we have plenty of music, dance, Valentine's arts and crafts, games, outdoor recreation and much more. Interested volunteers can apply online at our website at www.campingunlimited.org. We will pick up volunteers in Oakland and/or Campbell California. Or, if you choose to drive to Camp Krem, we will provide information about meeting times.
Volunteers must be 18+, be mature, able to assist with children and adults with disabilities, be patient, understanding, and have a good sense of humor.
Volunteering for Camping Unlimited’s Summer and Year-round Programs offer great rewards, but assisting and guiding children and adults with disabilities is challenging work. Under the supervision of our program directors, volunteers monitor the safety of our campers and help them with personal care. Camping Unlimited is entrusted with the care of children, therefore all volunteers interested in interacting with our campers must submit to a criminal background check.

Description
Camping Unlimited (founded in 1957) provides children and adults with developmental disabilities opportunities for recreational & educational programs throughout the entire year. Participants of all ages and disabilities (including Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Willi Syndrome, visual and hearing impairments and other physical /emotional challenges) enjoy a wide variety of respite weekends, overnight adventures, day trips, residential summer camp sessions and extended travel camps. The community-based events extend throughout Northern California's San Francisco Bay area and also includes Santa Cruz County and beyond.
