Description of job: when a bird is determined to be non-releasable, this person would be in charge of having someone train the bird to the glove, and attempting to find a home for the bird
You would be given information on how to get the information out to those who might want the bird. If there is interest in the bird, you would need to fill out appropriate paperwork for the organization taking the bird as well as permit paperwork.
You would then need to arrange shipment for the bird as well as ensuring there is a carrier in which to ship the bird. (There is another volunteer who actually modifies the carriers to get them ready.)
You would be responsible for getting the bird to the Fort Wayne airport for shipping....typically very early morning.
Time requirement: low
We only place 2-6 birds a year so it is not a large time commitment
