Work with Community Link's fundraising officer and volunteer marketing committee members to spread the news about the important work of the agency. We're looking for creative people who have marketing expertise and enthusiasm -- and who want to roll up their sleeves to manage one or more activities.

CONSTANT CONTACT COORDINATOR: Prepare once a week content from A to Z and post consistently. Audit the current email listing and update information. Maintain the CC email distribution list - segmenting as needed.

WEBSITE COORDINATOR: Be proficient in Word Press and make weekly updates to the website or as needed. Admittedly, it's a bit out of date ... so "own it" -- freshen our language and get the data from our program staff to update current information. Post new pictures for Volunteer Spotlight, key activities, and fundraising events.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Take a wide variety of photographs to support the marketing needs of the agency. With our signature event and 90th Anniversary around the corner we need photos of the auction items and photos of the party on April 13, 2019. Sweet Escapes will be held at the Mint Museum - Randolph Road, Charlotte, from 6- 10pm.

SOCIAL MEDIA ENTHUSIAST: Hard to believe ... but we know NOTHING about social media. Use your techie skills to the max and create the Social Media calendar and post creative and interesting information on a regular basis.

Mission Statement

The mission of Community Link (est. 1929) is to enable individuals and families to obtain and sustain safe, decent and affordable housing.

Description

Community Link is based out of Charlotte, North Carolina and operates in 21 counties across the state. We work with low-income individuals and families to help them secure safe, decent and affordable housing. Annually, we serve around 2,000 adults and children through our Homeless to Housing programs.

We offer free tax preparation for low-income individuals and families as well. Our VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program needs volunteers to be a greeter, site coordinator, or tax preparer. We will train you! Training begins each fall in preparation for the spring tax season.
VITA is part of our Asset Building program. We offer educational classes and one-on-one counseling to improve financial literacy and stability. Our goal in Asset Building is to help anyone become a first-time homeowner.

Community Link begin in 1929 as a Travelers Aid organization. We continue Travelers Aid by helping people get to safe home across the country. Typically, we serve people escaping domestic violence, stranded travelers, and people re-entering the world from incarceration. Annually, we help about 250 people through Travelers Aid.
