ABOUT THE IRC:

Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a leading humanitarian non-profit organization providing emergency relief, protection, rehabilitation assistance, resettlement services, and advocacy for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. Domestically, our 28 offices across the U.S. work with refugees to help them gain self-sufficiency, and ensure new arrivals have food, shelter, and clothing.

IRC TURLOCK:

The IRC in Turlock/Modesto serves refugees, asylees, and immigrants in the San Joaquin Valley. A committed staff of professionals and volunteers provide essential case management and immigration services to immigrant families, providing them with the resources and tools to rebuild their lives with safety and dignity.

SCOPE OF VOLUNTEER WORK:

Workshop volunteers directly assist clients with completing their citizenship applications (N-400) and fee waiver (I-912) or reduced fee (I-942) forms.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

• Attend a comprehensive training session
• Prepare naturalization applications and fee waivers or reduced fee forms on behalf of refugees, asylees, and immigrants for submission to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

REQUIREMENTS:

We require that candidates have the following qualities:

• Good communication skills
• Possess a great attention to detail
• An interest in immigration or naturalization
