Mission Statement

Division of Indian Work's mission is to empower urban American Indians through culturally-based education, counseling, advocacy and leadership development. DIW has been a key contributor to the Native community for more than 64 years by providing programs such as Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP), Strengthening Family Circles, Healing Spirit and Health Services. DIW has remained steadfast with our goals, including honoring our Native culture, educating youth, developing leaders, strengthening families and providing basic needs. We will continue to provide these services for our beneficiaries including American Indian youth, adults, families and elders in the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota areas with the dedicated and generous support from our many friends, volunteers, partners and donors.
