We invite you to visit the Youth Club at St. Francis of Assisi to learn about the program and clients we serve. You will have the opportunity to hear from the program director about how we are effectively improving the lives of our clients and positively touching our communities through measurable outcomes. We will discuss the opportunities for volunteer engagement at the Youth Club at St. Francis of Assisi and answer any questions you may have as you consider getting involved as a volunteer.
Serving the East Palo Alto community for over 10 years, the Catholic Charities Youth Club at St. Francis of Assisi helps youth grow into responsible adults by providing athletic and educational activities that foster character development, academic achievement, physical fitness, and community and environmental stewardship.
Our vision is for youth in our community to have a safe, supportive environment that will build their successes today, enhance their skills and experiences, grow their aspirations for tomorrow, and nurture a bright future filled with promise and achievement.
The guiding pillars of our program are:
* Education - a commitment to academic success
* Community - building relationships that support families
* Respect & Accountability - instilling self-respect, accountability, compassion, love and empathy
* Determination - inspiring resilience, patience and achievement
* Creativity - fostering genuine curiosity and innovative problem solving
Our motto, "Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Leaders", is embodied by our goal to lead by example. We hope that each participant will carry the pillars of our program far beyond the walls of our classrooms.
Our club provides structured programming for over 100 local youth each year.

Mission Statement
Founded in 1907 and rooted in traditions of charity and justice, Catholic Charities supports families, youth, aging adults, adults with disabilities through social services and opportunities for healthy growth and development.
Description
We believe that families must be supported and strengthened. We believe seniors should be allowed to age in place with dignity. We believe immigrants and refugees should be welcomed with love and compassion. We believe every person deserves a chance to grow in safety. We believe we all have a responsibility to care for our neighbor. We believe in developing young minds and encouraging compassion in our community. We believe in strengthening families and reducing poverty. Rooted in our faith-based values of charity and justice, the mission of Catholic Charities is to serve and advocate for the poor, the sick, the distressed, children, youth, families, immigrants, and seniors, regardless of their faith.
Thanks to the help of volunteers and staff in 2017 we served almost 35,000 clients. 3,024 clients were served by Homelessness and Housing Services.
