Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation

Join us June 1st, 2019 9:00 AM- 12:00PM to cleanup the Kelly trail, and protect sensitive habitats. The AHLF's June cleanup event will focus on removing invasive plant species from the Kelly Trail. Kelly trail is a 1 mile public access trail bordering the CDFW Agua Hedionda Lagoon Ecological Preserve. Removing these invasive plant species is critical to prevent thier expansion into Coastal Salt Marsh Habitat, one of San Diego's most protected lands. Removed species include: Brasserica nigra, Nicotiana glauca, and Pennisetum setaceum.

Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes and long pants. Sunscreen or a hat is recommended. Volunteers should also bring a reusable water bottle to each event, as we do not provide disposable water bottles. We will provide snacks, water, gloves, tools, volunteer documentation, and any training needed to complete the event activities.

Persons under the age of 18 must bring a waiver with completed parent/guardian signature to participate. Volunteers under the age of 12 must also have a parent/guardian present for the entire event. Waivers may be requested in person at the AHLF Discovery Center, or via this posting.
