For over 100 years, the American Cancer Society (ACS) has worked relentlessly to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer. There are many opportunities to save lives and celebrate life - and Walk & Roll is right here in Chicago.
Walk & Roll began in Chicago 47 years ago, and is the American Cancer Society’s oldest event in Illinois. Participants choose to walk/run 5K, skate 10K or bike 15K along Chicago’s Lakefront to raise awareness and funds for all cancers and the work of the American Cancer Society. The event celebrates cancer survivors and caregivers, guests are treated to entertainment and activities, and participants are encouraged to picnic in the park.
2018 Walk & Roll Chicago will bring together over 5,000 community members at an inspiring 1-day event at Soldier Field on Saturday, April 21, 2018. We are in need of volunteers to help us make the event meaningful and memorable. Event day tasks include the below:
- Registration
- Greeter
- Food & Beverage Tent
- Bike/Skate Valet
- Family Activities
- Start/Finish Line
- Survivor Tent
- Course Cheerleaders
- T-Shirt
- Mission Tent
- Garden of Hope
If you are interested in participating in the event instead, you can sign up as an individual or start a team to fundraise.
Please take a moment and like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/walkroll to keep up to date with event information and volunteer needs.
