This is a volunteer for anyone in the Phoenix area-- Surprise, Sun City, Sun City West, Litchfiled Park, Goodyear, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Peoria etc

Hospice is a program that focuses on quality of life for anyone in their last six months of life. Here at Seasons Hospice we offer patients comfort, dignity and hope as we support them through their final chapter on Earth. We have a team of nurses, chaplains, social workers, aides, music therapists and more to support individuals and families, BUT, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! You can volunteer anywhere in the Phoenix region.

What part do volunteers play in hospice?
Of all the hours spent face to face with patients in any of our disciplines, 5% of those hours need to be on a volunteer basis. Hospice was started as a volunteer movement, and volunteers are an imperative part of hospice today. We couldn't keep our programs running without our volunteers!

What does volunteering at Seasons Hospice look like?
There are many ways to volunteer. The most common way is to be matched up with a patient in your area, and become their friend. We introduce you to the patient, make sure it's a good fit, and then you visit the patient once a week, or twice a month to give them that extra support. We often place volunteers with patients who are socially isolated.

What would I do with my assigned patient?

The list is endless:
- listen to their life story
- read aloud from a book they love
- do a puzzle or craft
- pen letters they dictate to people they want to say goodbye too
- take them for a walk
- sing or play a musical instrument

Our patients are comforted by our volunteers presence alone. It doesn't take much to impact their lives-- they are thrilled just knowing someone truly cares.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone! Please give us a call if you're interested, or send an email to Abby Schiavello.

Mission Statement

Honoring Life - Offering Hope

Description

Seasons Hospice engenders hope in the lives of its patients and their family members. We are here for you.

We are a community-based organization on an ongoing mission to find creative solutions which add quality to life. We believe firmly in the patient/family focus of hospice care, recognizing that individuals and families are the experts in their own care.

Giving Meaning to Every Minute

In every life situation we have a choice as to how we react. At no time is this more profound than in facing the end of life or the death of a loved one.

These months, days, weeks and moments can be among life's most precious - and that is precisely the reason that Seasons Hospice exists. We will do everything in our power to ease pain and provide physical and emotional comfort and support for our patients and their families and friends.

Support When You Need It Most

Seasons Hospice is a community-based organization with an ongoing mission to find creative solutions that add quality to end-of-life care. The caregivers at Seasons Hospice hold steadfast to the patient/family focus of hospice care.

We recognize that individuals and families are the experts in their own care, and we continuously strive for excellence beyond accepted standards.

We are born into a world of comfort, warmth and love, and it our belief that we should all leave this world in the same way. To further that goal, we work with communities to increase the awareness of hospice as part of the continuum of care.
