Each month we gather as a community of 30-60 passionate and dedicated "Street Samaritans" to go out and aid the homeless. We strive to understand how homelessness affects the very people we want to help to shape the direction of our drives. Each street team is tasked with collecting data ranging from names, to reasons for homelessness, to frequented locations by the homeless, to what currently are the most pressing needs to be fulfilled. Only then can we execute our mission of assembling care packages customized to the season and the people we serve, so that those we help benefit as much as possible. Additionally, we can use our collected data to pinpoint areas to serve in future drives and programs to develop as well. In regards to donations, during our drives we provide nutritious food, toiletries, clothing, emergency shelter means, etc., and we also do one other thing - we establish connections with the homeless community so they feel accepted and inspired to seek help and rise above their current situations.

Description
We help to improve the living conditions of our homeless brothers and sisters in the city of Chicago through volunteering, charitable giving and direct outreach. We seek to educate people on the Street Samaritan way and enlighten them on true causes of homelessness, so that they, too, can help on a daily basis and become better social citizens. We connect volunteers together to build a closer community, provide human connection for those inflicted with homelessness, and build partnerships with local companies to drive stewardship.
