Point in Time Street Count

Volunteers age 18 and older, are needed to assist with the City of Phoenix's annual Point in Time Count, which allows data to be collected about the number of individuals living on the streets.

"The Point-in-Time (PIT) Homeless Count is an annual street and shelter count to determine the number of people experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County during a given point in time. This count is part of a national effort to identify the extent of homelessness throughout the country. The count includes a brief survey to identify the needs of those experiencing homelessness in the community. "
Volunteers are given an area known as a grid in which they are to survey for individuals who are experiencing homelessness and out on the street. These efforts provide data which is vital to enacting positive change in the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
