Fundraising Volunteer


Overview:

CENIT is primarily donor-funded and this position is important to sustain the institution. CENIT seeks to gain a stable sources (or sources) of funding that is not dependent on one-time donations.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively seeking new donors.
  • Writing grants.
  • Revising contracts from donating organizations.
  • Organizing and improving CENIT´s publicity materials.
  • Carefully documenting your work to provide transparency for future volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • 3 month minimum commitment; 6 months or longer preferred.
  • Previous Fundraising Experience.
  • Intermediate written and spoken Spanish required.
  • Excellent written skills in English.

Cost and Support from the CENIT Community:

We ask each volunteer for a one-time contribution of $100. In exchange, you will receive daily lunch, a CENIT T-shirt and the support of a full-time volunteer coordinator. Your contribution also supports the administrative costs of the volunteer office and the sustainability of our programs.



Communications Volunteer


Overview:

The communication needs of CENIT involve running and updating the CENIT Facebook page, producing a quarterly newsletter, in addition to revising and updating the website. The quarterly newsletter is sent to all ex-volunteer and donors and highlights important events and changes at CENIT in the past 3 months. The Facebook page is used to spread the word about CENIT and our programs to potential volunteers or donors in addition to keeping ex-volunteers and donors updated on a regular basis. The website should be reviewed constantly to ensure that all information is up to date and ideally could be revamped to be more user friendly to ensure all website visitors can learn about our programs and way to get involved in CENIT.

Responsibilities:

  • Updating the Facebook page on a regular basis
  • Organizing a team to produce the quarterly newsletter
  • Assigning, collecting, and writing articles for the newsletter
  • Producing the newsletter
  • Reviewing the website to ensure that all information is up to date

Qualifications:

  • 3 month minimum commitment; 6 years preferred.
  • Intermediate Spanish required.
  • Authority.
  • Teamwork and ability to motivate others.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Creativity.
  • Flexibility.

Description

The Integrated Childhood and Adolescence Center, CENIT, is a non-profit organization with 25 years of experience developing strategies and integrated programs to serve at-risk and vulnerable girls, boys and adolescents, with the aim of eradicating child labour, promoting their rights, andimproving their living conditions.

CENIT provides integrated educational, vocational, health, social and psychological services tailored to the needs of the community, with a particular focus on supporting and empowering girls and young women. CENIT offers a primary and high school, a drop-in tutoring center, a street outreach program, an adult education program and health services.
