weSPARK Cancer Support Center is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with an upcoming 5K/10K race through the CBS Studio Center Radford backlot on Sunday, January 21 st. The course will take runners on a tour through the filming locations of their favorite film and television shows of past and present. Participants and volunteers are encouraged to dress in costume of their favorite characters to compete in our costume contest. It will be a fun, exciting, family friendly day along with serious runner in the mix!
Volunteer duties will include handing out t-shirts, medals and prizes, providing directions, cheering along the course route and other event support duties. We are also looking for event photographers to help take some great photos pro-bono.
Volunteers should arrive by 5:45am and will be finished by 11am. Event features 5 different local radio stations (like KROQ and AMP Radio), free food for volunteers and a costume contest. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 5:45am (runner's packet pickup begins at 6:30am, race begins at 8am)

WHAT:
10K Run, 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run!
We will also have a kids play zone, vendor expo, with food, drinks, music from local radio stations, a raffle, costume contest and surprise guests!
If interested, please contact Hillary at hillary@wespark.org. Please note if you have any impaired mobility or cannot stand for long periods of time so we can be sure to assign you a duty that will be fun and enjoyable.

Scarcely a person in this country has been untouched by cancer, either by a personal diagnosis or by knowing and loving someone who has been diagnosed. The disease must be combated physically, but also psychologically and emotionally. weSPARK provides a variety of programs and opportunities for social exchange to all people at no cost, regardless of income, race, religious affiliation, age or where they go for treatment.
