The opportunities are endless within City Hall's various departments such as: Planning, Engineering, Human Resources, Fire Prevention, and Finance. You could also be assigned to work at the youth programs at various park sites, city wide special events, summer day camps, or an ASPIRE Afterschool site. There is a $15 entry fee and/or $10 renewal fee each year and occasional meetings throughout the year. The mission of the Downey Volunteer Program is to serve the needs of our community by mobilizing volunteer action. The City of Downey’s Volunteer Program helps answer unmet community needs by matching volunteers with non-profit and public agencies.
Description
With close to one hundred community service organizations and churches in town, there is a deep tradition in Downey of volunteering and donating to those in need, and to the City as a whole. We invite you to be part of our efforts to give back to our community.
