S.S. Lane Victory
Our historic ship which has served this country in three wars.

Engineering Dept. Work around and with steam turbine engine under the supervision of chief engineer. Deck Dept: painting, maintenance, cargo handling,lifeboat training. Under supervision of Boatswain Mate. Gangway Watch: Greeting guests and controlling ID badges. work shifts made up by Office Manager and Chief Security Officer. Stewards Dept: Under supervision of the Chief Steward, Prepares food for crew and guests for special events and work days. Crew mess usually operates for lunch every Wednesday and on the second Saturday of the month. Docents Dept: Escoring guests and Groups around the ship and telling the history of the ship and American Merchant Marine. Under supervision of Chief Docent. Gift Shop: Work in ships Gift Shop during ships operating hours. Sales, inventory control, work cash register, under supervision of Gift Shop Supervisor. Office: General office work,answer phones, mailing,filing working under Office Manager. Security Dept: Working ship security and safety at all special events,movie shoots, etc. Understanding Maritime Law and procedures under supervision of the Chief Security Officer. Electrical Dept: Work with ship's electrical systems under supervision of Chief Engineer. Carpenter Shop: Working on wood repairs and projects giving out by Boatswain Mate. Sign Dept; Making and painting signs as needed. Museum: Working in two museums, cleaning and changing displays, inventory of artifacts. Working under museum supervisor.

The S.S. Lane Victory is owned and operated by the Lane Victory Maritime Center, formerly, United States Merchant Marine Veterans of World War II (USMMVWWII); a nationwide, tax-exempt, non-profit historical and educational institution aboard the SS LANE VICTORY.
