Are you looking to make a real and lasting difference in someone’s life? Would you like to get teaching experience working with adults? Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts (LVM) trains volunteers to provide free, confidential and individualized tutoring to adults in basic literacy and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). LVM tutors are dedicated, patient, flexible and encouraging volunteers who create a positive learning environment where adults can thrive and learn without embarrassment.

With improved literacy skills and the confidence that comes with them, adults are able to pursue a better life and a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.

The first step to becoming a volunteer is to attend a volunteer information session. Join us February 7, from 6-8pm, for our first two information sessions of 2018. IMPORTANT: We have a Basic Literacy Training starting immediately after the February 7th Information Session. The dates for that training are as follows: February 8, 13, 15, 27 and March 1 and 6 (snow date: March 8). If you are interested in attending this training, you must attend the information session on February 7.
