Help prepare adult learners for U.S. citizenship! We are looking for a tutor to teach U.S. History and Government, based on curriculum for intermediate English language learners.
2.5 hour classes of 4-10 adult learners are held once a week for 8 weeks.
We are looking for a person who has:
- facilitation skills for working with groups (classroom management experience)
- has interest in helping people become U.S. citizens
- working knowledge of the U.S. naturalization process, history, and government (preferred)

Free Adult Tutoring
The Adult Education and Literacy Services offers small learning group instruction, including reading clubs, beginning English classes, citizenship classes, Job Seeking clinics, basic computer skills labs, high school diploma completion and individual tutoring at the Alameda County Library branches in Fremont, Newark, Union City, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, Ashland Area, Dublin, and Albany, and at several community locations such as housing apartment complexes, community centers, and non-profits organizations.
