Real Options for City Kids, or R.O.C.K. for short, is getting ready to begin its fall Skill Drills program for elementary school kids.
Skill Drills is a Saturday introductory sports clinic that focuses on team-based sports in a noncompetitive setting for kids in 1st through 5th grades. For five consecutive Saturdays, our kids get to experience a variety of sporty activities and the chance to bond with some great adult role-models.
For this session (October 12th-November 9th) we will teach children the sport of volleyball. No previous experience is needed, just a fun attitude and a desire to do something fun on your Saturday morning. Our goal is simply to provide a safe environment for kids to be kids.
This is a great opportunity to do something positive in San Francisco as well as meet some great kids. Each season has a different sports focus: basketball in the winter, soccer in the spring, and volleyball in the fall. Real Options for City Kids (ROCK) is dedicated to nurturing the healthy development of children by listening attentively to their needs and by providing opportunities to those who might not otherwise have access. ROCK aims to promote the positive development and long-term success of the youth that it serves through a combination of in-school and afterschool learning enrichment, sports and fitness, leadership training and outdoor adventure opportunities. ROCK's programs are designed to serve girls and boys, ages 6-17, who live in or attend school in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley.
