We are currently looking for knitters, quilters, or crotchetier to provide our patients with comfort blankets, prayer scarves, hats, gloves, sweaters, etc. Work on your time in the comfort of your own home! Few things warm a patient up more than a snuggly blanket and the knowledge that someone is willing to dedicate their time to ensure their comfort!

We are looking for volunteers in the Lewiston/Auburn, Norway/South Paris, Rumford/Canton and surrounding areas! Individuals or groups welcome!

Description

Our volunteers are priceless because they bring friendship, comfort and companionship to our patients last days., giving patients facing a life-limiting illness the freedom to live ALL the days of their lives by offering comfort, dignity, quality of life and time. We take the time to understand the unique needs of each of our patients and their loved ones. Our team of expert and compassionate hospice caregivers works to meet their needs, whether they are physical, emotional, social or spiritual. Volunteers at Beacon have a free training, background checks and are an integral part of the caregiving team. Most can expect to give 1-2 hours per week and sometimes be involved in special projects for our patients. Application and training is online, conveniently allowing you to work around your schedule.
