The end-of-life process for a veteran can be very different from anyone else's. Veterans have made many sacrifices and risks in their service to our country and many still wear scars of war. We educate our staff/volunteers on veteran-specific end-of-life care in order to make their transition peaceful and painless. With that comes providing these special patients with another veteran to they can connect with.

Are you a veteran? Would you be interested in sitting and having a coffee with a another Veteran,,, Veteran Volunteers have a unique ability to connect with Veteran patients and their families. We are looking for veterans to offer companionship, reminiscence, and to share their camaraderie with our military patients. Participate in specialized Pinning ceremonies for our patients where they are presented with a commemorative flag, certificate and more honoring them for their service. Beacon Hospice asks for a commitment of one hour per week. We will provide you with training. Please Help serve our veterans in this time of compassionate need.

We are looking for veteran volunteers throughout the state of Maine.
